EcoQuest is a small-scale Erasmus+ partnership project that utilizes innovative digital tools to promote environmental awareness and active citizenship among young people. The project addresses the gap between young people’s understanding of climate change and their ability to take meaningful action. It employs gamification and participatory educational methods to enhance comprehension and encourage engagement.
The main outcome of the project is the creation of a narrative video game that educates young people about climate change, the European Union’s environmental policies, and the importance of civic participation. Through interactive gameplay, participants are encouraged to make decisions, critically reflect on environmental issues, and understand the societal impacts of their actions.
Additionally, the project provides a pedagogical guide for youth workers and trainers, helping them to integrate the game and related educational activities into their programs. A series of supporting learning activities has also been developed to facilitate the academic use of the game. This initiative focuses on inclusivity, with particular attention to ensuring accessibility for young people with fewer opportunities and those with specific learning difficulties.
