Have you ever wondered how the European Dialogue is empowering young people across Europe to share their stories and shape the future?

By collaborating with partner organisations from across the continent, we provide young people with the tools, skills, and platforms they need to advocate for the issues that matter most to them and their communities.

This vision takes a bold step forward with PulseZ, a groundbreaking digital democracy initiative designed for young Europeans passionate about politics, journalism, and multimedia. The project, co-funded by the European Union, empowers youth to express their views on European issues, encouraging them to embrace activism through storytelling and content creation — in their own voice, on their own terms.

Launched in 2024, PulseZ is a €2.7 million EU-funded project designed to give young people a space to produce and share fact-based, engaging content. It provides training, mentorship, and a digital platform where they can develop their skills in journalism, multimedia storytelling, and political engagement. By fostering critical thinking and amplifying diverse voices, PulseZ encourages meaningful participation in European affairs.

Led by Junior Achievement Europe (Belgium), and supported by partners including Matrix Internet (Ireland), CiaoPeople (Italy), EURACTIV Poland (Poland), EURACTIV Romania (Romania), European Dialogue (Slovakia), and European Youth Press (Germany), PulseZ has officially launched.

This consortium aims to create a co-creative space for young people where every idea is valuable, fostering civic journalism as a cornerstone of democracy’s vitality.

More Than Just a Platform

PulseZ will offer more than a space for expression; will be a hub for skill development in digital journalism, helping young creators refine their craft. From learning creative techniques and storytelling to understanding entrepreneurial approaches, participants will connect with experienced correspondents from across Europe, gaining invaluable insights into the media world.

Activating Youth Participation

With their vast network of young leaders and expertise the PulseZ partners will amplify youth participation through diverse activities, including:

  • Creative Retreats and Innovation Challenges: Local youth-led events where aspiring journalists deepen their understanding of EU issues, share experiences, and advance the dialogue on digital democracy.
  • Online Discussion Events: Virtual spaces that highlight pressing topics for Europeans and amplify young voices.
  • The PulseZ Community Festival: A dynamic gathering that brings young creators and policymakers together, celebrating grassroots action and fostering connections between decision-makers and youth perspectives.

Driving Change Through Media

As a PulseZ partner, the European Dialogue is committed to enhancing youth engagement in democratic processes, ensuring that young voices are heard. By developing skills in communication, digital media, and entrepreneurship, the project ensures young creators can thrive and influence the European media landscape. PulseZ takes a user-first approach to content development, ensuring all materials — from Moodle courses to informational resources — are designed to be engaging, practical, and accessible for young content creators.

A Truly User-Centred Platform

The platform will evolve through continuous feedback from its Youth Advisory Council, focus groups and usability testing. The Moodle-based courses focus on journalism, content creation, and digital storytelling, teaching young people crucial professional skills such as fact-checking, multimedia production and ethical reporting. These courses are structured with a mix of interactive lessons, video tutorials, and real-world assignments, designed to fit the needs of digital-native learners.

Putting Youth at the Heart of Media

Fostering an inclusive society begins with amplifying young voices. The European Dialogue is proud to contribute to a future where these voices take centre stage, driving change and innovation.

In 2025, PulseZ will bring together thousands of young people across the EU through 10 local events, virtual discussions, and the vibrant PulseZ Community Festival. Together, we’ll celebrate the power of youth-driven media and its role in shaping a better Europe.
